About Me:
I am a qualified, Specialist Early Intervention Teacher: I have been working in this role for the past 14 years in New Zealand and Australia. I am very passionate about providing early intervention services that are grounded in best practices.
As a Specialist Early Intervention Teacher my role involves supporting the learning of children with developmental delays and disabilities by working closely with the adults in the child’s life e.g. parents, teachers and other professionals, including health specialists. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work alongside families, educators and other professionals to support the learning needs of individual children. As a Specialist Early Intervention Teacher, I assist with the development of an individualised intervention plan for the child, family and teachers. I play a key role in supporting the implementation of the plan, often through provision of coaching and mentoring for families and teachers, taking a lead role in the facilitation of services for children and families. I also support families at the time of their child’s transition to school.
